About the Internet Governance Internship Scheme

The NIXI Internet Governance Internship Scheme or the NIXI Internet Governance Capacity Building Programme is an initiative aimed at strengthening youth engagement and institutional capacity in the dynamic of Internet Governance ecosystem and digital infrastructure.

The programme has been implemented as a structured, multi-cohort engagement, designed to provide sustained exposure to key technical, policy, and governance dimensions of the Internet. It aims to enabled participation from students and young professionals across regions and academic disciplines, supporting a diverse learning environment.

Participants are provided opportunities to engage directly with experts and institutions involved in the global and regional internet governance ecosystem, including organisations such as ICANN, APNIC, ISOC, the Internet Governance Forum (IGF), and relevant government bodies. This engagement supports practical understanding of policy processes, institutional roles, and India's participation in global digital governance.

The programme also focuses on cultivating leadership and institutional readiness among Interns Where they get to actively contribute to programme delivery, coordination, documentation, and outreach activities, enabling them to develop hands-on experience alongside conceptual understanding of Internet Governance.
